An avatar is an artificial figure or picture of a real person on the internet, answering free-text by users.
The avatar can be shown as simple picture or complex 3D-animation that leaves a realistic impression. With a suitable vocabulary, several websites use avatars for avatar-video-chats. They can simulate a personal sales pitch or find products with keywords to answer the so called FAQ (frequently asked questions).
Avatars need manually maintained text-content to display useful dialogues. Furthermore, avatars can not lead to a purchase like guided selling systems, because the avatar responds to user questions, but can not lead them actively. Avatars are not product advisors.
