excentos' Matching Engine is the core of our Guided Selling-Technology. The Matching Engine uses product and market knowledge and sales strategies in order to calculate product recommendations.

During each recommendation session with one of excentos' Product Advisors, the Matching Engine analyses the user's buying criteria and evaluates it against the product attributes:

  • buying needs are translated into technical product attributes (e.g. "notebook for business" is matched on products with "high processor performance" and "with dockingstation"). This allows to quickly and easily make profound buying decisions without understanding the technical complexity of the underlying products
  • each user input generates an updated product recommendation
  • the recommendation list is sorted by buying probability
  • pros and cons of the products are evaluated. If no products fulfill all buying needs, alternative recommendations are calculated in order to avoid empty result lists
  • excentos calculates buying arguments that are taylored to the individual user's needs
  • our customer's merchandising knowledge and sales strategy can be integrated into the knowledge model and the product recommendations
